My name is Daniel Taylor and I am 18 years old; I am (or rather, will be) what is called a “Chayal Boded” or “Lone Soldier” in the IDF (Israeli Defense Force). Some of you may know me from various places around the internet as “genghisdani”. Some of you may have even seen me on the news.
Up until recently, I lived in the town of Baltimore in Maryland, USA; now I live in a small settlement about 6 miles (or about 10 kilometers) north of Jerusalem. I intend on joining the IDF in November, 2006. I plan to use this blog as a place to chronicle my thoughts, feelings, and whatever else comes to mind.
I must admit, I am not a blogger by nature, so if this blog does not recieve an update in a while, do not automatically assume that I have been killed in the line of duty; it may be that nothing happened, and I simply forgot about the blog.

I dont know how often you can come on here now that you are in the IDF, but I just wanted to let you know that I cant wait till I see you again. Will you be home over passover??
Hello. I am a British girl working in London in the film industry. My plan is to make a documentary about Chayal Boded (my cousin was a lone soldier too). The trouble is it’s quite a difficult subject to research and I need to talk to actual chayal boded..
